Membership Matters
If anything, the Church is an expression of God’s love and his desire for us to belong. In the New Testament the Church is described as being one because we are unified with Jesus Christ. By virtue of that relationship we too are members of one another. Membership is about taking this seriously.
It pushes back against the consumerism of our culture and reminds us that the Church doesn't exist for us. To be a disciple is to be caught up in a Story that's far bigger than our own individual lives and preferences.
We're one body, one family, devoted to the mission of God in our time and place.
Membership Process
INTRO CLASS
We offer the Intro Class to share our mission and vision here at Redeemer Rockwall. This class is also a great way to hear our story, learn about our denomination, meet our pastors, and meet others new to the Redeemer family.
1.
SHARE YOUR STORY
The goal of the membership testimony is to allow those seeking membership the opportunity to briefly share their understanding of the gospel, how they came to know Jesus Christ, and why they chose Redeemer Rockwall.
2.
MEET WITH AN ELDER
After completing your application an elder will reach out to meet with you and your family. This is a great way for them to get to know you and hear your testimony of faith. All new members are then received on a Sunday.
3.
Membership Vows
Our membership Vows are simply a basic summary of the gospel and an acknowledgement of the life we are called to live as disciples.
Do you acknowledge yourselves to be sinners in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope except in His sovereign mercy?
1.
Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?
2.
Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ?
3.
Do you promise to support the church in its worship and work to the best of your ability?
4.
Do you submit yourselves to the government and discipline of the church, and promise to study its purity and peace?
