KINDER - 6TH GRADE
STUDENT MINISTRY AT REDEEMER
Student Ministry at Redeemer seeks to nurture our children’s relationship with Jesus by learning about his word, his work, and his mission. We come alongside parents as the primary disciple makers in their home to help them raise their children in the faith.
Sunday School

The Big Ideas
While curriculum can change, our goals for our children do not. We select our teaching content with the 3 Big Ideas in mind so our children learn the full counsel of God.
We teach the whole story of the Bible because it’s how God reveals himself in his word. From creation to consummation, we want our kids to learn the Big Story of the Bible and how their lives fit into God’s purposes.
1.
GOD’S STORY
God is the main character of the Bible and the entire Big Story is about Jesus. For our children to build a relationship with Jesus, they need to understand who he is, what he’s done, and how to follow him.
2.
GOD’S SON
Following Jesus means he is the center of our lives. Following his commands and learning to love and serve others is what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. And we want each of our children to know Jesus has a purpose for them.
3.
GOD’S MISSION
AT CHURCH
Our 1st – 4th Graders learn about the story of God using the Biggest Story Bible Storybook. Our children learn the story of redemption from Genesis to Revelation and how Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s promises.
AT HOME
Each week we send out resources for parents to engage their children at home with what they learned on Sunday. Parents receive a video, memory verse, and questions to discuss with your children throughout the week.

LEARNING THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH
Our 5th & 6th Graders explore the New City Catechism. It’s a list of 52 questions and answers that teach our kids about who God is, the doctrine of the Scriptures, and the centrality of Christ in God’s story of redemption. They also engage in worldview content to shape how they understand the world around them through a biblical lens.
