THE HOME RENOVATION & CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

Home is where life unfolds. Home is where families gather and families grow. It's where we are welcomed and where we welcome others. It's where we worship, rest, and know we belong. God has given us a home, and he has grown our church family. Whoever the Lord brings our way, our hope is that this place feels like home as he dwells with us. The HOME Renovation and Capital Campaign is about celebrating the home God has given us and being ready for what he wants to do among us. As we begin this new venture, we invite you to join us as we look forward to what Christ will accomplish in this people and place we call home.

The HOME Campaign seeks to accomplish three objectives:

Extend Hospitality

Hospitality is about making room and considering others. As the body of Christ, hospitality is a fundamental aspect of our life together. Every week we receive the hospitality of God as he invites us to his Table. It’s there that we are reminded of how he sacrificially made room for us in his family, and where he calls us to do the same for others. We want our church home, both the people and the place, to express the welcoming heart of God to better support our life together and be able to welcome others the way Christ has welcomed us.

Grow in Worship

Where we worship matters. It’s where heaven and earth meet as our God comes and makes his home with us. For 116 years, our sanctuary has established a legacy of worship in our community. We want to continue that legacy and invest in our historic sanctuary to inspire joyful singing, awed reverence, and quiet prayer. Our hope is to one day offer additional worship services throughout the week, so that worship remains in the heart of our community and the center of our life together.

Invest in Mission

Jesus has grown our family. Over the last few years, as we’ve grown in number, we remain committed to the mission Christ has given us. We want to welcome all he will bring us, but also invite them to join us. We have been blessed to be a blessing, and whoever walks through our doors will find a church committed to India, Malawi, our community, and one another, and hopeful for new opportunities. The HOME campaign is a step forward in our commitment to make a greater impact locally and globally, for the glory of Christ and the life of the world.

Overview

HOME PROJECT

Phase 1

The first phase of the HOME renovation will expand our current facilities. This will include the expansion of our current restrooms and creating fellowship space called “The Commons” for fellowship on Sunday mornings and gathering space for ministries.

Phase 2

The second phase of the HOME renovation will extend our sanctuary by removing the back wall and adding the current Conference Room and Quiet Room to the sanctuary footprint. This will allow for additional seating and better unify the front and back halves of the sanctuary into a more cohesive space. Additional space will be created in the front of the sanctuary and aesthetic updates will remain true to the historical character of our building.

Phase 1

HOME PROJECT

Expanded Restrooms

ADDITIONAL FACILITIES
The renovated space will include additional capacity for our men’s and women’s restrooms. Each restroom will be larger than our current restrooms and ADA accessible. Both vanities will include two sinks and bright lighting.

BALANCED DESIGN
The restrooms have been designed and decorated to balance form and function. We want a space that is easily cleaned and maintained, while having a warm and residential feel.

FOR MOMS AND DADS
Both restrooms will include baby changing stations and privacy space for parents.

STORAGE AND UTILITY SPACE
A mop closet located in the men’s restroom will provide storage for cleaning supplies on the main level.

UPDATING OUR BUILDING TO CODE
Phase 1 will also include significant upgrades to our mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. We are currently grandfathered due to our building’s age and this renovation will modernize our infrastructure.

The Commons

FELLOWSHIP SPACE
The Commons will create much needed gathering space on Sunday mornings to relieve congestion in the sanctuary between services. This new space will allow fellowship to occur in a more natural environment and give parents a place to go while their children are in Sunday School.

COFFEE BAR
A kitchen will be located along the back wall that is designed for coffee and communion prep. A large countertop peninsula will serve as our coffee and snack bar. You can grab a cup of coffee in our brand new Redeemer diner mugs that you can set on the counter when you leave.

NATURAL LIGHT
The existing windows that were covered in previous years will be reopened. Four windows will be added on the west wall and will add beautiful natural light and open up the space. We want to create a warm and inviting space that makes a great first impression with our first-time guests.

MINISTRY GATHERINGS
Ministries can reserve The Commons during the week for their meetings and utilize an alternative space to the Annex. Community Groups can meet and still be able to see outside into the backyard when kids are present.  It will be an ideal size for smaller to medium size groups.

Phase 1 is fully funded and will begin at the start of 2025.
The budget is $380,000.

Phase 2

HOME PROJECT

Sanctuary Renovation & Expansion

GREATER SEATING CAPACITY
Extending the back of our sanctuary will add around 70 seats. This will allow us to stay at two services for longer, relieve congestion, and handle any significant growth. Our current pews will be replaced in order to add seating while keeping our current maximum occupancy and not be required to add a sprinkler system to our building. The new seating will be wood-backed chairs that are designed to look like pews.

COHESIVE & UNIFIED SPACE
This renovation will better unify our sanctuary. The back half of our current sanctuary can feel like a separate room. The new space will remove the fur down across the sanctuary, add six windows for natural light in the back, and create a brighter space with better visibility.

EMBRACING OUR HISTORIC BUILDING
The design is intended to bring out the historic character of our building while updating our finishes. The flooring will be new hardwood floors. Underneath our current ceiling tiles is the original wood slat ceiling that will be patched and restored, as well as the back half of our sanctuary.

OPENING UP OUR SPACE
The curved walls on either side of the stage will be removed. This will add significant space in the front and also provide those sitting on the sides of the sanctuary full visibility of the stage. The sound booth will also be moved to the back center of the sanctuary.

ADDITIONAL UPGRADES & CHANGES
New chandeliers and sconce lighting will brighten the space and match our historical aesthetic. Structural reinforcements will be added to our main ceiling joist as well as the subfloor. Cove lighting will illuminate the curved portion of our ceiling around the front half of the sanctuary and stage. New stone will wrap the back and sides of our stage.

STAINED GLASS RESTORATION
Our intention is to restore the stained glass panels for the three windows on the stage. While they may not be completed by the end of Phase 2, we are actively working toward finding a contractor for repair.

PHASE 2

Capital Campaign

In order to make Phase 2 of the HOME Sanctuary Renovation a reality, we are seeking to raise $750,000 in 2025 for construction, renovation, and contingency.

FUNDRAISING GOAL
