COME JOIN US
Join us on Good Friday, March 29, for one of our Tenebrae services as we remember the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
TWO SERVICES
We offer services at 6PM & 8PM.
Childcare is available through age 5 during both services.
What is Tenebrae?
TENEBRAE IS THE LATIN WORD FOR “SHADOWS”
A Tenebrae service is an ancient service dating back to the third century. It commemorates Good Friday by placing us inside Jesus’s final hours as we follow him into the darkness of the grave.
DRAMATIC READINGS
The service consists of seven dramatic readings of Scripture from the passion story in the Gospels that are meant to vividly portray the suffering, agony, and death of Jesus Christ.
DESCENT INTO DARKNESS
With each reading the lights are dimmed until we finally descend into complete darkness as the stone is rolled over the tomb.
The Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
